music and such
I've been in a number of bands in my day and had numerous musical projects. I even toured for a while. I've played guitars, bass, banjo, sung a little, and even played saxophone in bands. Additionally, I've graduated to recording. I haven't done much though, but I'd like to do more.

By far, the most successful musical endeavor I've been a part of is my old band, Stand Your Ground. It started when I met four friends through a church we attended. They called themselves Twisted Logic and did cover songs and made a few rock/nu-metal tunes. It was quite hilarious. They asked me to join and obviously I said yes. Our sound grew and matured (as did we) and we outgrew our pre-adolescent band name, thus was born Stand Your Ground. A few drummer changes later, we were touring most summers and winters. We even had an album on a real life record label. Swell! The following tracks were recorded in Fall 2007 with MiAH of The Sound Lair.
Stand Your Ground - Coup de Main
Stand Your Ground - Renaissance

During college, I took up amateur audio recording. I had recorded a lot of my own music with Stand Your Ground. I kind of wanted to work the other side of it and help friends record their own stuff. Caleb was a friend that I had played a few open mics with. He had some originals he wanted me to play with him on. I want to record them. So we did both. We recorded this tune during the school year in 2009. Drums were programmed in Fruity Loops, Acoustic guitars were recorded in the school's Chapel stage which had great natural reverb and the vocals were recorded in the choir robe closet adjacent to the stage using choir robes and a blanket as an impromtu iso booth. All other parts (bass, banjo, electric guitar) were performed in my tiny ass dorm room. Ghetto. Caleb on acoustic guitar, vocals; Jake Cantor, bass; Abbie-Caitlin Roberts, vocals; and me, banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitars, programming.

One of my best friends and band mate from Stand Your Ground, Rob, was a song writing machine. Writing for a band was not enough. He wrote a number of clever and memorable songs for his acoustic side project (originally named Experiment 10). I particularly liked some of his more recent attempts so I asked if he wanted to record. We recorded over the course of a weekend and here is one of the tunes.
